The dog behind the brand

Meet Shiro,
our first and toughest critic.

Shiro's started the way most honest brands do — with a bowl of bad dog food and a dog who point-blank refused to eat it. We went looking for something better: real meat, real vegetables, nothing that needed a chemistry degree to pronounce. We couldn't find it, so we started making it ourselves, one small batch at a time, in a kitchen in Jaipur.

Every recipe still has to pass the only quality check that's never once been wrong — Shiro sniffs first, eats second, and tells us exactly what he thinks by whether the bowl gets licked clean.

"He doesn't do polite feedback. If it's not good, he walks away. That's the whole review process."
The philosophy

Read the label.
We're not scared of it.

Nutrition Panel — Shiro's Standard Serving: Every meal
01 / Ingredients

Real meat, first. Always.

Chicken, mutton, or fish as the first named ingredient — never "meat meal" or a euphemism hiding behind it. If we can't name where it came from, it doesn't go in the bowl.

02 / Fillers

No fillers. Ever.

No corn syrup, no cheap grain bulking, no artificial colour to make it look "meatier" for you instead of tastier for him. What's on the label is what's in the bag.

03 / Formulation

Vet-formulated, not guessed.

Every recipe is built with a veterinary nutritionist for actual canine needs by size, age, and breed — then it still has to survive the Shiro test before it ships.

No products yet — and we're okay with that

We'd rather launch late than launch wrong.

There's no bag on a shelf yet, and no rush to put one there. Every Shiro's recipe has to clear three checkpoints before it's allowed anywhere near your dog's bowl. Here's exactly where we are.

Stage 01
In progress

Recipe development

Sourcing real, named ingredients and building the base recipes from scratch — no shortcuts, no fillers, no guesswork.

Stage 02
Up next

Vet formulation

Working with a veterinary nutritionist to get the nutrition right for real dogs — not just a label that looks good.

Stage 03
Final checkpoint

Shiro approval

The last and strictest test. If he walks away from the bowl, the recipe doesn't ship. No exceptions.
